To Watch You Grow

I have discovered a new pastime. . .
When I slow down long enough
to indulge myself.
In fact, I think perhaps it is my favorite
Way to spend an hour. . .
When I'm not too busy.
Busy. . . busy. . . what is more important?
What could possibly transfix time?
Dishes, laundry. . . will be there tomorrow.
Meals to fix, groceries to buy.
School. . . yes, that's very important. . .
But more important?
No, not more important.
Adn so, a new goal.
A new pastime. . .
I will make time for the more important thing.
Perhaps the most important thing.
To watch you grow.
