Little House in Ogema Township

We love to watch Little House. The entire family sits down every other day or so. I wasn't sure whether Shane, at age 3, actually understood it or if he just enjoyed the family time. However, he has now taken to hitching up his "wagon", flipping his reins, and saying "I Chawles." I love that at such a young age he can enjoy the show, even though he likely misses most of the content. He climbed into bed with Larry and I this morning. After a few moments of silence, Shane asked "Can I put on my nice clothes and go to see Cawwie's house?" Hm. This led to a labyrinth discussion on reality vs. pretend. . . "They aren't real." Well, no, that's not quite right. . . "It's a pretend family. . ." That didn't cut it either. . . fortunately for Mama, Shane quickly lost interest in the subject and headed off to sleep. I love my children, but man! 7 a.m. is just too early to school my three year old in the arts of theatre. :o)
